Giles Lawson
Lawson Advisory is led by Giles Lawson, a lawyer with 17 years of experience in top-tier advisory roles. He spent over 12 years at Coller Capital, a global private equity firm with $40bn in assets under management, where he was a Principal in the investment team specialising in legal execution.At Coller, Giles oversaw the execution of over $10bn of buyside transactions across a wide range of secondaries investments in private equity and credit — from traditional LP portfolios to some of the market’s largest GP-led transactions. He played a key role in the creation and fundraising of the firm’s credit secondaries platform and led the structuring and execution of approximately $5bn of collateralised fund obligation (CFO) transactions. His experience includes structuring private equity and credit funds, SMAs, co-investments, financing and warehousing transactions, and executing a range of complex private markets investment structures and liquidity solutions.Earlier in his career, Giles worked in private practice at Slaughter and May, where he advised private and listed clients on M&A, capital markets, investment structures, and general corporate matters.Giles draws on this background to advise clients on the legal, structural and practical considerations that arise in private market transactions.
